Australia Wombats Dodgeball Team
The Wombats have returned to Oz after completing their world tour of Pacific Nations. The Wombats spent 2 weeks touring Fiji, Samoa, Tonga and New Zealand. The Wombats had some good challenges during the tour and was a good warm up for the upcoming world championships in Las Vegas.
The tour was a chance for the Wombats to face some nimble teams with strong arms who could match the physicality of the Wombats style of play. “It’s good to play some teams you can really punish and not have to worry about calling an ambulance half way through the game…” commented Ryan during a post match interview. “There was, however, an incident with a wayward ball and a ball boy. I apologised to the kid after the game, and tried to cheer him up by telling him it was lucky to lose a tooth at a dodgeball game.”
The Wombats started the tour with tough games against Fiji and Samoa. It was clear that by the end of the tour though, the Wombats were comfortable with their heavy travel schedule and convinvingly beat Tonga. New Zealand didn’t offer much competition to the Wombats, being described as woeful and showing much work is needed before they face the rest of the world in Las Vegas.
